Overwatch 2 is finally out, it is a sequel to Overwatch which was released way back in 2016, and it is a futuristic 5v5 Team-based action game. It was developed and published by Blizzard Entertainment. The game has seen a lot of success since its release on the 4th of October, players have been enjoying this game a lot. However, some players are facing issues where they are facing Overwatch 2 Aim lags, or, a huge Input lag or delay is seen. In this guide, we aim to fix this issue by suggesting players various methods to try to resolve this issue.
We have received numerous reports in the past week where the players feel like they are experiencing a delay in motion, not being to aim well, slow input takes from players, etc. Overwatch 1 had no such issues, but Overwatch 2 seems to have some settings pre-enabled that are causing these aim and input lag related issues.

How to Fix Overwatch 2 Aim and Input Lag?
We will first be going through settings that are available in-game and head over to some Windows settings that might potentially resolve this issue.
Method 1: Enable High Precision Mouse Input from Settings
The first and foremost fix we suggest that the players look into is the ‘Enable High Precision Mouse Input’ that is available in the game settings. To do this, players must follow these steps.
Once the Game is open, press the ‘ESC’ button on your keyboard –> Select ‘Options’.
Head over to Gameplay Settings Tab from the top of your screen.
Select General Settings from the left side of your screen.
Look for the Miscellaneous tab –> Turn on the ‘High Precision Mouse Input’ option.
Method 2: Disable Dynamic Render Scale in Settings
The second method would be to turn off Dynamic Render Scale in Settings. This option allows the game to deliver a consistent frame rate which might decrease its resolution, thus, we suggest you turn this option off. To turn it off, players must follow these steps.

In the Game, press Esc on your keyboard –> Select Options
This time, head over to the Video Settings Tab from the top of your screen.
Under Video, look for the ‘Dynamic Render Scale’ setting and turn it off.
Method 3: Disable Settings related to Vsync in Settings
Our third culprit inside the game settings might be Vsync. Vsync forces your game to lock the framerate to your monitor’s refresh rate. This is to avoid issues such as screen tearing, etc. To turn it off, players must follow these steps.
In the Game, press Esc on your keyboard –> Select Options
Now, head over to the Video Settings Tab from the top of your screen.
Under Video, look for the ‘Vsync‘, ‘Triple Buffering‘, and ‘Reduce Buffering‘ settings and turn all of them off.
If Nvidia Reflex is available, we suggest you set it to On + Boost for a smoother experience.
Method 4: Disable Pointer Precision in Windows Settings
Many players forget that Pointer Precision is able to cause such a feeling as well. To disable this, players must follow these steps. This works on both Windows 10/11.
In the Search bar of your windows. Search for ‘Mouse Settings’
Select ‘Additional Mouse Settings’ from the tab opened.
Head over to the ‘Pointer Options’ tab from the top.
Uncheck the box that says ‘Enhance Pointer Precision’.
Method 5: Disable Vsync from Nvidia Control Panel (Nvidia GPUs Only)
Finally, if all the above solutions fail to work, disabling Vsync from Nvidia’s Control Panel seems to be the only solution. Players must follow these steps.
On the Desktop, right-click and select Nvidia Control Panel.
On the left side, select the ‘Manage 3D Settings’ option.
Under the Global Settings tab, search for Vertical Sync –> Select the Off option.
Apply the settings and close the Control Panel.
Method 6: Report the problem on Overwatch forums/support
If all the above-suggested methods fail to work. We suggest you report the issue to Overwatch’s forums or the support team. The game is newly launched and might have a lot of bugs, it might take a few updates before all the major bugs are addressed.
