In Stardew Valley, we have items to harvest in the lands and gardens. Some of these items are common and don’t get much profit to the player, while some are essential for various recipes. These recipes will ultimately get you articles that are otherwise not achievable. But there is also the ancient fruit, which is not an item that you can use with any of the recipes, but it can get any player a hefty profit right away.
Getting your hands on an ancient fruit is a time-consuming process, though, as it takes around 28 days for an ancient fruit seed to turn into a plant. Once it turns into a plant, though, you can sell it off at different amounts of profits depending upon the harvested item’s quality. How can you get these seeds to get the Ancient fruit for yourself? that is what we will take a look at here in this article.

How to get the Ancient fruit in Stardew valley?
When it comes to the Ancient fruit, it is something that you can use for some straight profit. Besides that, you can even gift it to a friend in Pelican Town who is in urgent need of some profit. As mentioned above, it is not something that you can use with any of your recipes at all. So the best option would be to make some money here.
There are a few ways to get the Ancient fruit seeds for growing the Ancient fruit in your garden. The most convenient way is to deal with the traveling merchant who moves around with a cart selling different things. You will find this merchant with the traveling cart on the southwest portion of the map in the Cindersap Forest on Fridays and Sundays. Generally, you will find the ancient fruit seeds for sale in between 100 to 1,000 gold pieces, and if you can get these seeds at a lower price, that would be a steal for the price. One thousand gold pieces are not that good a deal for the seeds though, do keep that in mind.
Alternatively, you can also donate an ancient seed artifact to Gunther at his museum. This will make him hand over an ancient fruit seed to you for planting in your garden. You can get your seeds this way only once, though. You can not keep giving ancient seed artifacts to Gunther, expecting an ancient fruit seed every time. It won’t work after the first time.
And the final option you have to get the seeds is from the Seed maker. There is a small chance that by giving crops to the Seed maker, you might be able to get your hands on an ancient fruit seed. It is sporadic, though, and compared to the methods mentioned above, which is very unlikely.
Once you do get the seed, the process to gain profit from it is very straightforward. Just plant the seed in your garden and wait for 28 days for these seeds to grow into a full plant. Then you can sell the ancient fruits you get from the plants at different rates of profits depending on their star rating,
If you have no stars, then you get 500G for it. And if you have a silver star rating, then you can get 687G for it. Finally, if you have a gold star rating, then you can earn a profit of 825G. Additionally, if you have unlocked the Tiller Profession, you can also get a 10% boost to the ancient fruit sale price. This will mean that with no star rating, you can earn 605G. With a silver star rating, you can make 755G. And with a gold star rating, you can earn 907G.
Besides earning straight profit from the Ancient fruit, you can even turn it into a jelly. And from that, it can be changed into wine. Both the wine and the jelly can get you more profit as compared to selling the fruit directly. You can prepare the jelly from the fruit using a preserves jar, and the wine can be crafted using a keg. The wine can get the player the maximum amount of profit, and the jelly also earns fairly more than the fruit itself. And if you have unlocked the Artisan Profession, you will get a 40% boost in your earnings.
With no star ratings, you can get 1150G without the Artisan profession when it comes to the jelly. And with the Artisan profession unlocked, you can get 1610G profit.
Moving on to the wine, without the artisan profession, you get the following amount of profits depending on the star ratings.
- No Stars- 1650G
- Silver Star- 2062G
- Gold Star- 2475G
- Iridium Star- 3300G
And the amount of profit for the wine with the Artisan profession unlocked is mentioned below.
- No Stars- 2310G
- Silver Star- 2887G
- Gold Star- 3465G
- Iridium Star- 4620G
