The Isle of Armor DLC in Pokemon Sword and Shield is expanding the Poké Dex by bringing in many of the old favorite Pokemon into the game. Happiny is the pre-evolution form of Chansey in Pokemon Sword and Shield and is one of the many Pokemon that came back into the game via the Isle of Armor DLC. This is one cute Pokemon so catching it will definitely make your Poké Dex look pretty.
In this guide today, we’ll teach you how to get Happiny in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Isle of Armor DLC. In the below guide, we’ll introduce you to two methods that’ll help you catch this particular Pokemon – the first method being one to put in some work and the other being dependent on luck. So without any further ado, let’s look at how to get Happiny in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s The Isle of Armor.
How to get Happiny in Pokémon Sword and Shield’s The Isle of Armor
Method 1 – Breed
Breeding is the most effective way to get Happiny in Pokemon Sword and Shield’s the Isle of Armor since this method guarantees you the particular Pokemon that you’re looking for. For this, the first thing you need to do is catch a Chansey and a Ditto. After you get yourself both these Pokemon, head straight to the Market Area in Hulbury. From there, buy Luck Incense and give it to your Chansey to hold.
Then, take your Chansey and Ditto to any Day Care of your choice and leave them there until you get an egg. After getting the egg, bike around in order to hatch it. You can also include a Pokemon with the flame body into your party in order to make the hatching process faster. Since Chansey is a female-only species, you’ll also need Ditto to breed them, and sending them to the Day Care with Luck Incense will surely result in an egg of Happiny.
Method 2 – The Wild
The second option we have is to search and find Happiny by chance in the Wild Area in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The process of catching this particular Pokemon in the Wild is just the same as finding any other Pokemon from the Wild Area in the game. Simply go through the grass and look for any Exclamation point. When the Pokemon flees, follow its trail through the grass and run into it. If you’re lucky enough, it will be a Happiny.
Rather than searching in the wild, we highly suggest that you go by the breeding method since it has a guarantee of resulting in Happiny and is worth the hard work and patience. However, if you feel like not putting in the work, then relying on luck is the next option, although it is time-consuming.
