Free Apps For iOS 7 Features and Look
Start with the Yahoo Weather app. The Weather app shown off by Apple for iOS 7 looks virtually identical to it. In fact, Yahoo provides the weather data for the built-in app.
Email App
The new Mail app for iOS 7 has been cleaned up and is more streamlined. You can get the same look and feel by installing Mailbox for iPhone. One caveat to the Mailbox app is that it currently only works with Gmail.
AirDrop Functionality
AirDrop is another new feature that allows you to share pictures and files with other iPhone users near you. A couple of apps that do the same thing are Bump and Filedrop. The cool thing with Filedrop is that you can also share files with a Mac and PC.
Control Center
If you jailbreak your iDevice, you can get the Control Center feature showed off in iOS 7. Just download SBSettings from Cydia. It provides a lot of cool customization and additional toggles to install. And you can set it to come up with a simple screen swipe or tap of the Home button.
Change iOS Theme
Of course, the biggest change in iOS 7 is the overall look of the user interface. If you jailbreak your device, you can give it a fresh new theme by using WinterBoard. It provides a lot of themes to choose from. Some cost a few bucks, and there are hundreds available for free. Here’s a couple of examples:
Actually, you can make your own iOS 7 style theme by installing FlatIcons from Cydia and using an iOS 7 style wallpaper. FlatIcons has a bunch of different combinations you can configure. Here’s an example of the icons squared off and with rounded edges.
These are just a few apps available that will give you an iOS 7 look and feel on your iOS 6 device. What apps are you’re currently using that provide an “iOS 7-like” experience? Comment
